Anime adaptation for Sega smartphone RPG Chain Chronicle greenlit

During the Chain Chronicle Offline Fan Meeting in Tokyo, a short animated video by Sega announced that the smartphone RPG will in fact be getting itself its very own anime adaptation.

The anime will be revolving around main characters Fina and Pirika and will be directed by Vandread director Takeshi Mori with character designs by Guilty Crown’s Hiromi Kato. Qualia will be doing the screenplay while production will be done by Sotsu.

The cast has also been announced and they are:

Ayane Sakura (Love Lab’s Yuiko Enomoto and Is The Order A rabbit’s Cocoa)

Surprise! Sword Art Online II shoulders the highest expectations out of all the anime in the season and practically left #2 ranked Free! Eternal Summer in the dust with over 400 votes. The anime has some pretty big shoes to fill as the Phantom Bullet arc is considered one of the best arcs in the light novels. Free! Eternal Summer taking the #2 is also not surprising as the anime took the fujoshi world by storm with their abtastic and abtacular swimming pool battles last Summer 2013.

 

Hamamonogatari may have been postponed until August 2014 but it still continues to be strong, even if it is not a full anime season.

 

Black Butler and Hamatora, along with Free!, Ao Haru Ride and Sailor Moon are female fan favorites and from the results, looks like the women have truly let their voices heard.

He is an awesome dad because despite being busy with his work as a university professor and as an archaeologist, he still finds time to play along with his two daughters and even encourages their wild imaginations. Yamada-kun and the 7 Witches to will lead to a TV anime?

When Yamada-kun and the 7 Witches released a new promotional video, it has became so successful that it has already received over one million hits on Youtube. To celebrate, a new PV has been released and it announces an Original anime DVD (OAD) project as well as an official website.

 

 

The manga written and illustrated by Miki Hoshikawa is one of the most popular titles from Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine and that is saying a lot since the magazine also includes Fairy Tail and Hajime no Ippo. It follows delinquent Ryuu Yamada who accidentally switches bodies with the school’s smartest student, Urara Shiraishi.

 

An official website for the OAD has also been opened.

 

 

Who knows? Maybe this OAD may prove to be very popular, so popular that it would get its own (and well deserved) anime adaptation. The manga also had a live action adaptation which was aired back in August 2013.

There would always be many anime series you would want to recommend to others, especially to those who aren’t very familiar with anime. But which specific anime series do you want to recommend the most? The one on the very top of your list to say to your friend that he or she should watch?

Luckily, #1 ain’t Boku no Pico as some people might think (yes, plenty of people are still recommending that one to unsuspecting viewers). #1 actually goes to the tear jerker known as AnoHana and for good reason, the anime can seriously make the toughest of hearts cry out loud one time and make them smile and laugh in another. The anime is full of lovable and memorable characters and it is certainly worth recommending people to.

#2 goes to fellow tear-jerker Angel Beats! which also offers up some unforgettable characters, a great story, and an emotional roller coaster full of laughs, action and tears.

#3 on the other hand is a different kind of story with unforgettable characters and writer Gen Urobuchi shows how brilliant he is in its execution with plenty of twists, turns, and surprises. Gintama, which ranked #4 on the other hand may be the complete opposite of the top three as it provides some witty and comedic scenes which will certainly leave you laughing your head off.

Hitsugi no Chaika Gets 2nd Season for Fall

According to official Twitter account for Hitsugi no Chaika, an announcement has been made that the series will be receiving a second season that will air Fall/Autumn 2014. More information on the second season will come at a later date.

After watching the opening title for Sky Italia's MotoGP 2014 races coverage, I really wish there was a button on my remote to add anime effects to every program out there. It's so cool.

TV Series 12-sai.: Kiss, Kirai, Suki

The story begins with Hanahi, a sixth-grade girl who is neither an adult nor a child. She deals with issues such as accidentally witnessing her homeroom teacher kissing, and worrying about experiencing physiological changes before her friends. The manga depicts a 12-year-old girl\'s innocent worries and first love.

Anime to Look Out For This Season

No Game, No Life

No Game, No Life (#NogeNora) is a comedic fantasy anime that I've enjoyed much more than I thought I would. Long story short, Nogenora is about Sora and Shiro, a set of NEET siblings who are transferred to a world where everything is decided by games but don't be fooled by that premise. Surprisingly, Nogenora contains no incest and it is not the same kind of game world as SAO or Log Horizon. These siblings use their unique intellect to save humanity from being taken over by the various other species that inhabit this world of games.


The comedy gets a little repetitive from time to time but the references to other anime are almost always hilarious. Sora and Shiro are obviously OP but Sora's confidence and Shiro loyalty/moe-ness makes their obviously insane power level entertaining.

Brynhildr in The Darkness
A Science Fiction drama that tends to transition from suspense filled drama to comedy in a blink of eye has an interesting plot. Bynhildr in the Darkness tells the story of a teen named Ryouta Murakami who had lost his childhood friend nicknamed Kuroneko in an accident years ago. One day a transfer student arrives at his school resembling his childhood friend and even bears the name Kuroha Neko. This girl refers to herself as a witch and even has super strength to prove it. Her and other witches are currently on the run, attempting to escape the laboratory that created them and Murakami has been thrown into the midst.

Brynhildr in the Darkness (#Gokukoku) was written by Lynn Okamoto, the writer of Elfen Lied. Similar to Elfen Lied, Bynhildr in the Darkness gets a little darker with each passing episode but still retains the comedy. This series makes heavy use of dramatic irony but I will admit, for those who prefer to know as much as the MC, Brynhildr in the Darkness may not be for you.

Black Bullet
Black Bullet is a fast paced, action packed, monster, loli themed anime that I just can't seem to look away from. In the year 2021, mankind was defeated by Gastrea, a parasitical virus, and was forced to live within a wall made of Varanuim monoliths, a metal that is able to subdue Gastrea. Soon, the "Cursed Children" were discovered: children born infected with the Gastrea virus who possess superhuman abilities. Due to the Gastrea virus' intervention, the Cursed Children could only be female. Civil Securities are formed to specialize fighting against Gastrea, operating with the pair of an Initiator, who are cursed children, and a Promoter, serving to lead the cursed children. Ten years after the war, Rentarou Satomi, a high school student and Civil Security member, and his Initiator Enju Aihara, receive a secret mission to prevent Tokyo's destruction.

I never thought that an anime could juggle monsters and loli and still be entertaining without resorting to constant fanservice. Then again does the very existence of loli count as fanservice? I am enjoying Black Bullet at the moment but the death of the first antagonist who was definitely my second favorite character of the series knocked off some points. Only four episodes in, the antagonist is introduced and defeated, a monster who threatens to destroy the entire city is gone, major rival killed, a close friend is killed and a dark secret involving the MC's loli is revealed to the viewer. Black Bullet is very fast paced but for those who would rather see an anime that gets right down to business and moves on, I would recommend Black Bullet.

Akuma no Riddle
Haru Ichinose is a student at a private girls' boarding school, Myoujou Academy, who is being targeted by 12 assassins disguised as students. Tokaku Azuma is a transfer student and an assassin who also initially targets Haru, but develops feeling for her and decides to protect her from the other assassins.

Akuma no Riddle is quite frankly, for lack of a better term a series about lesbian assassins. Tokaku spends her days protecting Haru from a group of other assassins while also attempting to find out why there is even a target on her head. At the end of the day, Haru is more than she appears and it is difficult to tell whether she is truly an innocent victim in all of this or she is a manipulative sociopath. Figuring that out is half the joy of this series with the other half being the fights between assassins.
