Sailor Moon Figures Revealed at Winter Wonder Festival 2015

Wonder Festival, Japan’s largest twice-a-year figure convention, recently showcased some of the newest Sailor Moon figures coming out in 2015. Considering all of the excitement from fans during the release of Sailor Moon Crystal in summer of 2014, the amount of figures they being added to the franchise in 2015 are beautiful as usual while Sailor Moon has some of the popular merchandise out of any anime in japan.

S.H. Figuarts displayed their prototypes for Sailor Pluto (Setsuna Meioh) and Sailor V, Minako Aino and of course, Sailor Moon herself.

MegaHouse displayed their figures of Usagi, Rei, and Ami for their World Uniform Operation Figures line this weekend as well.

At the Megahouse booth, they also displayed some new additions to their popular line of Petit Chara figures, this time, featuring the Spectre sisters.

So far, there is a lot of excitement with fans about preorders and collecting the franchise’s newest merchandise this year. Which are you most excited for?

K 2nd Season Slated for Fall and Staff Revealed

Kings Records began streaming the first promotional video for the upcoming second season of K on Wednesday which reveals that the second season will premiere in fall 2015. The video also confirms some of the staff for the second season:

Director, Character Designer: Shingo Suzuki (Coppelion, K)
Animation Production: GoHands (Seitokai Yakuindomo, Coppelion)

K, also known as K Project, is an original television anime series by the studio GoHands (Seitokai Yakuindomo, Coppelion). The series launched in October 2012 and was helmed by director Shingo Suzuki (Coppelion). The series received modest reception for its plot, but it was praised for the fluidity of the visuals and art. The creator of the series, GoRa (who also helped with the series’ composition), also wrote the story of the many adaptations of K. To date, the series has two prequel mangas, a side story manga, two light novels and a PlayStation Vita game. A sequel film to the anime series, titledK Missing Kings, was also produced and released in July this year.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:

Set in a world where history has taken a slightly different course from the one we’re familiar with, K follows the story of a young boy whose life is caught in a psychic war between seven kings.

Ashinaka High School is known for its unique setting: the entire campus is built on an island. Yashiro Isana, aka Shiro, is having lunch with a cat on one of the school rooftops. After his lunch break, Shiro goes on an errand for his classmate Kukuri to prepare for their upcoming school festival, only to be chased by some intimidating-looking men.

There Might be a Season 2 of Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru

An interview with Seiji Kishi, Makoto Uezu, and Takahiro, the director, series composer and creator of the Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru anime respectively, in the most recent issue of Dengeki G‘s Magazine has revealed that there are plans for the future development of the Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru anime, where a second season may be very likely.

The recent March issue of Dengeki G‘s Magazine had a special bonus chapter for Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru set after the events of the anime and light novel series, written by the series creator Takahiro himself and illustrated by BunBun. The chapter itself is titled Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha De Aru: Sonogo no Sonoko (Sonoko After). The issue also had an interview with Takahiro, as well as Seiji Kishi and Makoto Uezu, the director and series composer of the anime adaptation.

In the interview, Kishi mentioned how support of the anime has been tremendous, with the sales and popularity of the series being surprisingly high – ranking 1st for the season, and that further support of the series can lead to the future development of the series. There are currently plans for this, which also include pushing the story into new unexplored directions. This is also somewhat evident with the new bonus chapter, with fans earlier demanding a further conclusion to the series. Regardless, if there was more continued support of the series the second season of the anime will be made.

The story takes place in the era of the gods, year 300. Yuuna Yuuki lives an ordinary life as a second year middle school student, but she’s also a member of the “Hero Club,” where club activities involve dealing with a mysterious being called “Vertex.”

The Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru anime continues to be very popular in Japan with high sales. Continued support from fans of the series will without a doubt have a second season of the anime in the near future.

The Idolmaster Girls Take a Shot at the Kill La Kill Universe

Talented artist who goes by the pixiv username Taku recently recreated characters from Bandai Namco Games’ The Idolmaster franchise as characters from Kazuki Nakashima’s Kill la Kill series.

This amazing crossover displays Chihaya Kisaragi as Satsuki Kiryuuin, Makoto Kikuchi as Ryuuko Matoi, Yayoi Takatsuki as Nui Harime, Yukiho Hagiwara as Mako Mankanshoku, Iori Minase as Nonon Jakuzure and Hibiki Ganaha as Uzu Sanageyama.

Angel Beats!-1st Beat- Pre-Order Bonuses Are Saucy

With the upcoming and highly anticipated Angel Beats! visual novel Angel Beats!-1st Beat- debuting on PC in Japan on May 29th, pre-order bonuses have been previewed. Each retailer will provide a different poster, so hardcore collectors will have a hard time trying to decide.

Angel Beats! is a visual novel project by Key’s Visual Arts based on the anime series of the same name. Shoujo Vampire Anime Diabolik Lovers Receives 2nd Season and Stage Play

According to the official Twitter accounts of a Japanese games developer, Rejet, and it’s visual novel franchise, Diabolik Lovers, it has been announced that the anime will be having a second season sequel. They also revealed that the Sakamaki and the Mukami brothers will be returning for the new season. More information and details will be announced soon.

The dramatic, mystery-romance otome game franchise is also known in Japan as Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal. There are currently four games. The first one is playable for both PlayStation Portable, released on October 11, 2012, and PlayStation Vita as a limited second edition, released on December 19, 2013. The second game is titled as Diabolik Lovers: More, Blood featuring four new characters and was released for PSP, PS Vita and PS Vita TV (limited edition) on October 24, 2013 and January 15, 2015 respectively. The third game is called the Diabolik Lovers: Vandead Carnival and was released on December 4, 2014 for PS Vita and PS Vita TV. The latest game is titled as Diabolik Lovers: Dark Fate and will be released on February 26, 2015 for both PS Vita and PS Vita TV.
Diabolik Lovers received a 15-minute 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Zexcs (Sukitte Ii na yo., Aku no Hana) on September 16, 2013 to December 9, 2013. It was directed by Shinobu Tagashira (in-charge for Kimi ni Todoke‘s storyboard). The anime released six DVDs, regular and limited edition. The first limited edition DVD volume was released on November 27, 2013 covering the first two episodes. The sixth limited DVD volume was released on April 25, 2014 covering the last two episodes.

It has also been announced that the franchise will receive a stage play on August 26 – 30, 2015 at the Rikkoukai Theater in Tokyo’s Shinagawa district. They will be telling more information about the play as the date comes closer. The official Twitter account, official website and the official blog for the franchise’s stage play was also opened.

New Visual Released for Nisekoi Season 2

A brand new visual for the second season anime adaptation of Naoshi Komi’s Nisekoi manga has been revealed in the latest issue of Gigazine and Animate TV’s Anime Guide. Nisekoi Season 2 will be airing this April.

The anime’s second season will feature the debut of Haru Onodera, Kosaki Onodera’s younger sister, voiced by Ayane Sakura (Natsumi Koshigaya from Non Non Biyori). The website released the first visual for Haru:

“Raku Ichijou is an average high school student. He also happens to be the sole heir to the head of a Yakuza Family called the Shuei-gumi. Ten years ago, Raku made a promise… a secret promise with a girl he met. They promised one another that they will “get married when they reunite.” Since then, Raku never let go of the pendant the girl gave him.

Then one day, a beautiful girl named Chitoge Kirisaki transfers into Raku’s class. Their chemistry was more than off. There was not a moment where they were not fighting. But by a weird turn of events, Raku and Chitoge agree to become fake lovers. Although his heart is really interested in his classmate Kosaki Onodera, Raku must continue pretending to be Chitoge’s boyfriend.”

The second season of the Nisekoi anime will be airing this April, during the Spring 2015 anime season. Further information about the series will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

One Piece Manga Chapter 775 Illustration Error Spotted by Fans

Eiichiro Oda doesn’t make many mistakes when drawing compared to most manga artists, but when he does his fans make sure to point them out and let everyone know. This week’s latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine featured a double color page spread of the Straw Hat Pirates as bikers and just riding on the road like so:

No New Sword Art Online Anime Announced

On February 1st, the Sword Art Online – Sing All Overtures concert was held at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall in Japan and with this came hope that a third anime adaptation of Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online would be announced.

Sadly, the event came and went without any official mentions of a third season or any other plans. What did come after the event was the confusion and hoaxes afterwards due to this image:

God Eater

God Eater is an Action Role Playing, Hack n Slash game developed by Shift and published by Bandai Namco Games. The games are set in a dystopian future Japan, where large monsters called Aragami have destroyed most of mankind. In the games you play as a God Eater, a small group of soldiers whose sole purpose is to defeat the Aragami using weapons made from the Aragami’s cells. A total of 3 games have been released since its start in 2010. The first game in the series released in Japan in February 2010 for the PlayStation Portable with an updated release titled Gods Eater Burst later in the year, where it also released internationally. A direct sequel to the game was published last year in Japan on the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. The game has been announced to be localised, but no date has been given yet. An anime adaptation by ufotable was announced earlier this year, the released date of the anime is still unknown.

New Aria Anime Leaked and Listed for September Screening

On February 3rd, 2015, Mag Garden temporary hosted a teaser website on Tuesday that reported that a new anime for the the Aria franchise has been green-lit. The company removed the website shortly after it opened.

According to the website which was temporary put online on February 3, the new anime, titled Aria the Avvenire (Aria the Arrived), will be once again directed by Junichi Sato (Kaleido Star, Pretear, Sailor Moon), and will also feature the return of Reiko Yoshida (Tokyo Mew Mew, Bakuman.), who will handle scripts. The new animation’s format has not been specified, although the teaser website listed that an event screening of the anime will occur on September 26.

Drift peacefully into Neo Venezia, a city on the planet Aqua (formerly known as Mars). By the 24th century, humans have found a way to colonize the previously uninhabitable planet. As futuristic as that sounds, Neo Venezia is still teeming with rustic beauty; gondolas on wide canals and waterways are the main mode of transportation. The city itself is a faithful replication of Manhome’s (the planet formerly known as Earth) Venice.

To make sure that residents and tourists alike get the most from Neo Venezia’s many wonders, companies offering guided tours via gondola were formed, one of which is named Aria Company.

This is the workplace of Akari Mizunashi, a free spirited teenager from Manhome who is now a novice Undine (the title given to tour guides). Join Akari as she becomes intimately acquainted with other Undine, tourists, Neo Venezia’s residents, and even the city itself, learning many valuable life lessons along the way, such as the wonderful truth that there are such things as manmade miracles.

Sailor Moon Crystal Gets Redrawn in the Style of the Manga and Original Anime

Marco Albiero is an Italian illustrator, cartoonist and character designer who is known for drawing or redrawing Sailor Moon pictures, and many have been used on the official Italian Sailor Moon website and on the DVD box sets. His artwork has also been used in other countries’ releases such as France, Thailand, and Brazil.
