And the newest Evangelion is… Kumamon?!

With the Evangelion exhibition heading to Kumamoto Prefecture’s Museum of Art, the exhibition’s official website has revealed that the prefecture’s lovable mascot, Kumamon, has somehow transformed into the Evangelion Unit 01. I’m pretty sure that he’s gonna have one very powerful AT Field…

This is all to promote the upcoming Evangelion Exhibition, which will be hitting the Kumamoto Prefectural Museum of Art starting February 28, 2015 and will be featuring several exhibits and pieces from the classic mecha anime such as art pieces, storyboards, and more. The exhibition will also feature limited edition Evangelion X Kumamon merchandise like key chains and clear files.

Kumamon is no stranger to collaborations as he previously teamed up with Kenshin Himura and Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin, as well as Tekken’s Heihachi Mishima. Evangelion-01 on the other hand recently had a run-in with the iconic transformer, Optimus Prime.

There are Marvel-themed weddings, Star Wars-themed weddings, a Final Fantasy-themed wedding, and now, there is finally a Sailor Moon-themed wedding as a couple in the United States tied the knot “in the name of the moon” in a wedding inspired by the iconic magical girl anime.

Professional event-planner and cosplayer, Michelle Nguyen, is one big anime fan, and for her own wedding, she just had one thing in mind for the theme, and it is Sailor Moon. She is such a big fan that she even has Usagi’s Crescent Moon Wand in the lace pattern of her wedding gown! She is even carrying around her own moon rod. Now that is what you call Moon Pride!

And what is a bride without her bridesmaids? What is Sailor Moon without her Sailor Senshii? Her bridesmaids even have their own wands and are inspired by the Sailor Senshii themselves.

The newly-married couple’s wedding rings even have a Sailor moon feel to them. According to Nguyen herself, her ring is shaped like the Moon Tiara with the moon etched in the center.

Heck, even the photobooth props and the altar are also Sailor Moon-themed

And when the ceremony finally took place, the flower girls were wearing Princess Serenity-inspired gowns while the ring bearer himself was dressed up as Tuxedo Mask. Mamoru, is that you?

Ken Kaneki sure looks different for Tokyo Ghoul season 2, first episode’s story teased

Marvelous’s official website for Tokyo Ghoul has now updated the character design for the anime’s main character, Ken Kaneki, who went from being the seemingly helpless and whiny half-human, half-ghoul hybrid, into this white-haired badass.

He sure feels different with the new white hair. The website also teased part of the anime’s first episode, which continues the battle bretween the Aogiri Tree Ghouls and the humans’ counter-Ghoul force, CCG, with the Anteiku ghouls caught in the middle. The website teased that one of the Aogiri Tree leaders, Noro, will be facing off with some members of Anteiku while Touka’s confrontation with her brother, Ayato continues.

Final Evangelion Film Slated for Late 2015

It has been revealed in the latest issue of Bungeishunjuu’s Weekly Bunshun magazine that Japanese pop singer Hikaru Utada is planning to perform the main theme for the final film in the Rebuild serie, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0. The article also mentions that the film is scheduled to released in Japan between Fall/Autumn and Winter 2015.

The article itself is about Utada and how she is currently taking steps to return to the music industry. The article refers to a source from a record company mentioning that she will be singing the main theme of the final Evangelion film, scheduled to release between Fall and Winter next year. The song itself would be the focus in her final album with Universal Music Japan. Though whether the song will appear in the film will be dependant on if Hideaki Anno decides the film will release during that time frame. Utada herself sung the Ending themes to all previous Evangelion films.

DanMachi TV Anime Slated for April 2015

The official website of the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Fujino Oomori and Suzuhito Yasuda’s Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka? (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) light novel series has revealed that the anime will be airing from April 2015. The cast, production staff, character designs, a new visual and the first promotional video were also revealed.

Here is a synopsis of the series:

The story takes place in the town of labyrinths, Orario, also called “Dungeon.” Vel Clanel is a newbie adventurer that admires “Having a fateful meeting with a person of the opposite gender.” One day during an adventure, he is attacked by a Minotaur. Close to destruction, he is saved by a top-class female adventurer, Eyes Warenstein. He falls in love with her at first sight, and begins actions to become an adventurer that is on her level. He later encounters Hestia, a god called a “Lolita god” due to her stature who falls in love with him.

The Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka? anime adaptation will be airing from next April during the Spring 2015 anime season. Further information about the series will be revealed soon.

Angel Beats! Hell’s Kitchen OVA Promotional Video Streamed

The promotional video has been streamed online for the recently announced second Angel Beats! OVA titled Hell’s Kitchen. The OVA will be released with the Angel Beats! Blu-ray boxset, which will also contain audio commentary of the voice actors and actresses as their respective characters, as well as a special box drawn by Na-Ga, the original character designer of the series, and a digipack designed by Hirata Yuzo, the anime character designer and animation director of Angel Beats! There will also be interviews and comments about the series, as well as all articles that were published in Dengeki G‘s Magazine.

The Hell’s Kitchen OVA of Angel Beats! will be released with the anime’s Blu-ray box set, releasing on June 24 next year for ¥26,800 (~ $268.00 USD) with tax.

Non Non Biyori Second Season Title & 1st Visual Revealed

    The official website for Yusei Matsui’s Shonen Jump hit Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu) has revealed the long version of the first promotional video. The anime will begin airing on January 9th 2015 at 25:20 (effectively the 10th at 1:20am) during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season.

Jun Maeda and Key, who are known for producing acclaimed and popular visual novels, announced that they were producing a visual novel on Angel Beats!, expanding many of the character’s backstory. Angel Beats! -1st Beat- and its subsequent releases, will be written by Jun Maeda. A mobile game based on the series was also produced.
