Japanese Karaoke franchise, Joysound, has released their annual Karaoke Rankings, and for this year’s Anime/SFX/ Video Game Song category, as well as the Vocaloid song category, there were plenty of surprises in store.
The rankings were based on which song was played most often in the various Joysound karaoke joints all over Japan.
10) Lion by May’n and Megumi Nakajima (Macross Frontier)
9) Youkai Taisou Daiichi by Dream5 (Youkai Watch)
8) Do you Wanna Build a Snowman -Japanese Ver. by Sayaka Kanda and Natsuki Inaba (Frozen)
7) Love is an Open Door -Japanese Ver. by Sayaka Kanda and Eisuke Tsuda (Frozen)
6) For the First Time in Forever -Japanese Ver. by Sayaka Kanda and Takako Matsu (Frozen)
5) Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari by Supercell (Bakemonogatari)
4) Guren no Yumiya by Linked Horizon (Attack on Titan)
3) RPG by Sekai no Owari (Crayon Shin-chan:! Very Tasty B-class Gourmet Survival !!)
2) Cruel Angel’s Thesis by Yoko Takahashi (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
1) Let it Go -Japanese Ver. by Takako Matsu (Frozen)
Looks like Frozen dominated 2014 Joysound’s Karaoke Rankings for the Anime/SFX/ Video Game category, beating out perennial winner Cruel Angel’s Thesis and constant favorite, Guren no Yumiya. Japan is Frozen Crazy at the moment as the Academy Award-winning Disney animated movie has truly captured the hearts of many people in the country.
