After winning the Junior Course during last year’s Gunpla Builders World Cup 2013 Japan Qualifiers, the now-11-year-old GunPla modeling prodigy, Mei Hata, has proven that lightning does indeed strike twice as she once again defeated older modelers in the 14 and under category by taking first place for the second year in a row.
GunPla master Katsumi Kawaguchi even praised Hata for her work as she posed in the Winner’s Podium together with the GunPla legend. She first burst into the scene by winning the Junior Course of the Gunpla Builders World Cup 2013 in the age of 10. This year’s entry is called the “War In The AI” and features the Zeon mobile suit, the Kampher.
For the Open Course, third place was taken by modeler Takefumi Yatabe whose entry, Stinger Photo Ball, had everybody talking.
Ro Ku’s custom Wing Gundam known as the Wing Gundam Diabolus, which uses a Master Grade 1/100 Wing Gundam from Endless Waltz, takes second place honors.
And now,let you guess who is this man?
Delegates who won the qualifying round for Italy, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, North America (U.S. and Canada), China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Thailand will compete with the winners of the Japanese qualifiers during the Gunpla Builders World Cup to be held in Gundam Front Tokyo in Odaiba — near the 1/1 scale RX-78-2 Gundam statue — on December 21, 2014.
